Porto Santo Ferry: The island of Porto Santo is one of the Madeira Archipelago. It is situated at a distance of 50 Km from Madeira. The "Golden Island", as it is also known, measures 11 Km lenght and 6 km in width. It was discovered in 1418 by João Gonçalves Zarco, Tristão Vaz Teixeira and Bartolomeu Perestrelo. According to history, it was given this name as it had provided a port of shelter from a bad storm.
